A Few Words About Us
Sri Sankara Bhagavathi Arts and Science College is a benefaction of Jagadguru Sri Jayendra Saraswathi Swami Educational, Health and Charitable Trust. Our college was started with the philanthropy and blessings of our Patron Sri Jayendra Saraswathi Swamigal and Vijayendra Saraswathi Swamigal in 2002. Kalvi Thanthai Anantha T. Amirtham, the Founder-Secretary, took strenuous efforts to establish this college to cater to the educational requirement of the socially and economically weaker section of the society.
Ayya Anantha T.Amirtham, an eminent business tycoon in Southern Tamilnadu, being concerned about the disadvantaged people, played a significant role in the inception of the institution, which is located in Kommadikottai, a hamlet of Sattankulam Taluk, Thoothukudi. The college commenced its scholarly alluring journey as a study center under Sri Chandrasekarendra Saraswathi Viswa Maha Vidyalaya, Deemed University, Kanchipuram. In 2007, our college came under Manonmaniam Sundaranar University, Tirunelveli.
Now our institution is running successfully with more than eight hundred students, aiming at imparting quality higher education and producing highly competent and socially responsible personalities. The college provides an affable milieu to students and ensures inclusiveness in all spheres.

MANAGEMENT
"Service to humanity is service to God" is the unshakable faith of our college management. To spread enlightenment across the world, on toeing the lines of illustrious Saint Sri Chandrasekharendra Saraswathi Swamiji, his successors our Patron Sri Jayendra Saraswathi Swamigal and Vijayendara Saraswathi Swamigal lent their support to start many temples of learning to provide quality inclusive education to the rural folk across Tamilnadu.
Kalvi Thanthai Anantha T. Amirtham, renowned business tycoon, took tremendous efforts to establish this institution in Kommadikottai. He saw the hardship of the students in pursuing higher education. There was no college in close proximity, and students were not able to afford to their higher education as they hailed from socially and economically deprived section of the society. So he vowed to give quality higher education to his own village folk and put in all his efforts and wealth to materialize these dream.
